After surviving all the classes of first semester, I knew I deserved a much needed vacation. By the start of semestral break, my family and I flew to the small island in the province of Aklan – Boracay. Known for its picturesque beaches and clear blue waters, this little gem is one of the ultimate travel destinations of tourists to escape the chaos of the city life once in a while. Boracay is a short boat ride from Caticlan Jetty Port. After fifteen minutes on the boat, we finally stepped on the lands of this paradise.
It was an early start on our first day in Boracay. Right after breakfast, we left the hotel and went straight to the beach station wherein a little speed boat brought us to parasail platform to start our activities. First on the list is parasailing. One moment we were seated on the back of the boat, and the next thing we knew, we were already way up high in the air. It was my first time to go parasailing, yet the fear of heights was not really a problem to me since I’m always the girl who loves to take risks and wants to try new adventures. It reminded me of my childhood days when I always wanted to know how it feels like to be a bird, soaring up above the endless sky. Up above, I got the chance to see a magnificent view of the entire island. Fifteen minutes was just a very short while though, so I made sure to make the most out of it.
Next to that, we went helmet diving. At the platform, we were taught on the different instructions and hand signals to use when underwater; then the divers brought us more than 10 ft deep. We got to witness the amazing view underwater – corals plus different kinds of fish. The divers also gave us some bread for us to feed the fish, and automatically we got surrounded by fish of different colors.
We spent the rest of the day roaming around the island – swimming, eating, and enjoying the different lifestyle they had in the place. Aside from its dreamy white beaches and waters, what I love most about Boracay is that there is so much to do on the island. The white sands stretched from one end to the other with hotels, restaurants, stores, and much more. While strolling around, you get to see all kinds of people with different races. The island is filled with restaurants of different kinds, serving different kinds of cuisines, so you never go hungry everywhere you go. A line of small shops are also there for you to choose different souvenirs that you might want to take home with you.
Being on the island for two days was like a dream, and it made me witness the different lifestyle they have – beach vibes all the way! I wanted to stay for a few more days though, so I recommend you to make the most of your time there. Boracay is definitely one of the places I’d like to visit time after time, and I hope this convinces you to visit the place yourself to see the magnificent view, experience the island lifestyle, and taste the different cuisines the place has to offer.
